KUALA LUMPUR – In response to feedback from exhibitors and buyers, organizers of the Malaysian International Furniture Fair have rescheduled the event for next September.
The event was originally planned for March 8-11, but now will take place Sept. 1-4 at the Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre and the Putra World Trade Center.
In place of a physical show, organizers are planning to hold the second annual virtual MIFF Furniverse event in March. This provides online sourcing opportunities to buyers from around the world.
This event launched this past August, attracted some 70 exhibitors and 922 total visits from buyers from 84 countries and regions. Some 30% of the buyers included those who have not previously visited the MIFF show, typically held in early March. The inaugural event also generated some 2,400 business leads with an anticipated $1.16 million in sales.
“We feel the new dates will offer our exhibitors and buyers the best experience, while offering the industry the opportunity to convene and trade virtually in the meantime,” said Dato’ Tan Chin Huat, founder and chairman of MIFF, noting that MIFF 2021 will return with a “hybrid of physical and digital business solutions to provide a greater trade experience to the MIFF community. We would like to thank exhibitors, buyers and friends who have continued to communicate with us during this period.”
In addition to bedroom, dining room and living room furniture including upholstery, the MIFF show features bedding, youth furniture and office furniture. Geared to both contract and residential use, the office segment is one of the largest assortments shown at any trade show in Asia.
Event organizers said they will continue to monitor developments moving forward and provide updates as warranted. For more information on the MIFF show or MIFF Furniverse, visit, www.miff.com.my
